Kabul, June 15 - I am shocked and saddened by this morning’s bus explosion in Kandahar city that resulted in the death of more than ten people and injuries to a number of others.

There can be no justification for such a bloody attack against innocent civilians who were simply travelling to work.

My thoughts are with the family and friends of all those who were killed or injured at this difficult time and I urge the authorities to do everything in their power to bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly.
