Space age Thistles

Despite Afghanistan’s extremely hot and dry summer conditions, the fertile land allows flowers, like these Thistles, to bloom.

In agriculture the Thistle is the recognized sign of untidiness and neglect and comes in a variety of species.

These Thistles were found on the grounds of the Darl Aman Palace, future home to Afghanistan’s National Assembly.
