Class
is in session
A female teacher
makes her way to Ustad Musbah school in Kabul. Not your typical
school building, this residential home was recently converted into
a scholastic institution.
The school pictured
here offers classes from grades one to nine. While mixed classes
are common in primary schools, once students reach the seventh grade
they are segragated into male and female only classes.
Since the fall
of the Taliban in 2001 five million children have returned to classes
- 35 percent of them girls.
