An informal online poll, conducted by the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan
during the month of March 2008 has found that 66 percent of respondents
think that Afghans themselves can do more to change the situation of women in the country while 20 percent of respondents believe that the international community should do this.
The UNAMA online poll permits respondents one vote per computer. It is an informal poll only and is open to participation by any visitor to the UNAMA website www.unama-afg.org. For September 2007, and based on data showing geographic location of servers, we estimate that up to 6 percent of respondents may have been UNAMA staff.
A new poll question appears each month on the UNAMA website.
