An informal online poll, conducted by the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan during the month of February 2008 has found that 42 percent of respondents think that NGOs spend aid money most effectively in Afghanistan while 40 percent of respondents believe that the international community spends it most effectively.

The UNAMA online poll permits respondents one vote per computer. It is an informal poll only and is open to participation by any visitor to the UNAMA website www.unama-afg.org. For September 2007, and based on data showing geographic location of servers, we estimate that up to 6 percent of respondents may have been UNAMA staff.

A new poll question appears each month on the UNAMA website.
